Employee at Boston Proper Real Estate has taken on the task of retiling a bathroom. Things you’ll need:

Ceramic adhesive 

TILES!!

Tile Cutter

Grout spreader

Adhesive spreader

Love. 

and a level

Over all this process is pretty straight forward. I used a standard 3x6 subway tile and some polished Carrara. Starting with the wall running along the bathtub, I began spreading the adhesive across the lower portion of the wall. As I came to the ends, I used a tile cutter to cut the 3x6 subway tile to size. Repeat a hundred times over. 

I then noticed that the walls ran about half an inch off so as I tiled, I made sure to tile the adjacent wall and make sure that it was lining up evenly. 

Things to avoid, spreading too much adhesive across the wall, faster than you can cut tile because after a few hours, the adhesive beings to dry and you will need to either tile faster or remove the dried adhesive and start new. Tiling on a very flat surface is mandatory, any uneven surfaces will not allow the tiles to sit flush together. 

Also, make sure your fingers stay away from the weight of the tile cutter! It hurts like hell if it gets caught in there! 

After about 4 hours, I managed to tile a good half of the bathroom. I plan to finish up over the weekend and I will update again on Monday.
